{Vincennes, IN, June 15, 2017} – The YMCA of Vincennes Board of Directors has selected local resident, Pat Herman to take the helm as CEO for the Y.

Pat is the son of Dr. Daniel J. and Mary H. Herman and is one of seven surviving children. He moved to Vincennes in 1971 where he has been a lifelong resident. Pat graduated from Rivet High School and earned degrees from Indiana University and University of Indianapolis in Chemistry and Physical Therapy, respectively. His work background consists of health care and business with an emphasis in sales, where in his most recent position worked as an orthopedic product representative since 2001. Also, his faith is an important part of his life and is an active member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (formerly St. John the Baptist Catholic Church). Pat aspires to become an ordained deacon within the church later this year.

The YMCA has been promoting healthy lifestyle based on Christian principles in the US for over 160 years, and in the Vincennes and surrounding area for over 100 years. I am grateful for this opportunity and humbled to have been selected among a field of outstanding candidates,” stated Pat Herman on accepting the new position. “I cannot say it any better than to quote the mission statement of the YMCA of Vincennes: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.  This is indeed a powerful mission, one with which I will be happily and enthusiastically associated, and one to which I will lend my wholehearted support in whatever way our Lord inspires and enables me.”

The YMCA of Vincennes is currently lead by Interim CEO, Joe LaRocca, who will continue his position until Herman officially takes over the leadership of the Y. No date as been set for the transition. At that time the Y will hold a meet and greet reception at a date to be announced later with the new CEO.
