Flu Shot Clinic

Our Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center will be hosting a FLU SHOT CLINIC by Good Samaritan Community Health on Tuesday, October 31 from 9am-11am. Please contact the center to learn more at (812) 882-2285.

FREE Pickleball Clinic

Join us at 10am on Tuesday, October 10 for a free Pickleball instructional clinic. For all ages and abilities, this game is low impact. Open play times at the Y are Monday-Saturday, 9am-11am and Monday-Thursday, 6:30pm-8:30pm with two courts available. Equipment is available at the front desk.

Family Fun, Pumpkin Fun

Join us for our annual Pumpkin Splash and a Movie on Friday, October 20 from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. This family event is open to the public and will begin with swimming with pumpkins from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. with the movie to follow from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The family will enjoy pumpkins, games, and crafts, plus refreshments. Cost is $3 per child that is a Y member and $5 per child for a child that is not a Y member. No pre-registration required. For more information contact the Y at (812) 895-9622.

Membership Changes:

Now members of the Y will have more benefits to enjoy. All group fitness classes, either on land or in water, will be FREE for members. Non-members will need to purchase a day pass to attend.

As another added membership benefit, Child Watch babysitting program will be FREE for Household members to utilize while attending class or working out in the Wellness Center.

 Fall Break All Day Care

The Y will have All Day Care during Fall Break. Days for care will be 10/11-10/13 & 10/16. If your child is not already enrolled in Afterschool care, you must register for All Day Care before 10/11. Financial assistance is available. Register your child today at the Y!

For Healthy Living: FitStrong is Returning

FitStrong is returning with Stephanie on Monday evenings at 6:30pm beginning October 16.

For Healthy Living: NEW Strength Train Together Class

Strength Train Together group fitness class is like no other. It will blast all your muscles with a high-rep weight training workout. Using an adjustable barbell, weigh plates and body weight, this workout combines squats, lunges, press and curls, with functional integrated exercises. This class will push you to your personal best! Class times are Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 8:15 a.m.

For Healthy Living: Cycle Circuit Returns

This spin inspired class adds circuit exercises to regular spinning drills. Participants take part in progressive hills, steady-state flats and intervals. But intervals take on a different meaning with added circuits that introduce strength, agility and balance. Class return September 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the NEW Spin Room!

For Healthy Living: Power Hour Yoga & Restorative Yoga Added!

  • Power Hour Yoga – Fast paced cardio style of Yoga. Constant Movement in sync with your breathing. On Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Restorative Yoga – Slow paced, deep stretching and relaxation. Great for muscle recovery after workouts. On Wednesday 7pm-8pm
