For Social Responsibility: Services of Our YMCA Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center

Keep your independence by joining others for our daily care program for older adults. Services include: assistance with shopping and bills, on-site medical assistance, escort to medical appointments, weekly health review, bathing and hygiene care, respite care and two meals and snacks, plus so much more. Money Workshop at the Center

Join us at our Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center for a workshop, “Where Does Your Money Go?” presented by the Purdue Extension Office. Session 1 is August 13 from 10am-11:30am and Session 2 is August 27 from 10am-11:30am. Contact the center to learn more about this event at (812) 882-2285.


Fish Fry Fundraiser – August 17

Please join us on Friday, August 17 for our annual Fish Fry Fundraiser for our YMCA! We will again serve lunch and dinner – Lunch 11am-1pm and Dinner 4:30pm-7pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Fish fillet sandwich, hamburger or hot dog, chips, drink and dessert included. Purchase your tickets at our front desk!

Are you looking for an exciting job where you can utilize your potential and use the latest technology? Van go is looking for 3 persons to drive floater/routes within the county. If you are looking to join a winning
team of progressive individuals dedicated to helping those with mobility needs, you may be the right person for the job. This is a day position Monday – Friday. Weekend or evening driving for a special event is rare. Are your kids in school leaving time on your hands, come drive for YMCA VanGo. Retired and finding more time than you know what to do with, come drive for VanGo. Out of high school and haven’t found that perfect job, come and drive for VanGo. Must be eighteen or older and have a for hire endorsement on your license or CDL. Applications taken at the YMCA Bettye J. McCormick Center at 2009 Prospect Ave, Vincennes, IN 47591.


For Youth Development: Afterschool Care

When kids participate in the Y’s Afterschool Care program, parents know their children have a safe, nurturing place to stay when school lets out for the day. Transportation is provided for children in Afterschool Care from the Vincennes Community and South Knox schools, and is open until 6pm each weekday evening. Afterschool Care is provided for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade, snacks and homework help are provided. Kids will learn, play and stay safe all school year in Afterschool Care, plus they will automatically be enrolled in All Day Care when school is out for break. For Healthy Living: Core De Force

You now have another group fitness class to meet your needs – Core De Force! Held on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 5:30am, a core focused workout, inspired by the highest-octane sport in the world—mixed martial arts combines authentic Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai moves, explosive power moves, interval training. Join Michelle James is this exciting new class! Class is FREE for Members and Non-Members must purchase a day pass.
